Leveraging the Environment Setting behavior in Model-Driven App

In this blogpost, we will understand the benefits and learn to leverage the Environment Setting behavior feature in Model-Driven App / Dynamics 365 CE. Before we begin, ensure you subscribe to CRM Crate to remain informed about the latest developments in the Power Platform field.

Leveraging the Environment Setting Behavior in Model-Driven App

Model-Driven Apps in Power Platform are a type of app that focus on your data model. Instead of designing the app’s interface first, you start by creating your data structure and business processes. Once your data model is defined, Power Platform generates a standardized, responsive UI for you. These apps are ideal for complex business scenarios where data relationships and workflows are crucial, providing a consistent experience across different devices with minimal need for custom coding. Essentially, they let you focus on your business logic and data, while Power Platform takes care of the rest.

Model-driven apps provide a powerful framework for building complex business applications and you can customize the Model-Driven App using Advance Settings which includes areas like Business Management, Templates, Product Catalog, Service Management, Customizations, Solutions, Solution History, Data Management etc. Although the Model-Driven App / Dynamics 365 CE has shifted from the Web Client to the Unified Interface, this Advanced Setting still uses the legacy Web Client layout, as shown below.
